【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoversguidelinesforacousticemission(AE)examinationsofpressurizedcontainersmadeoffiberglassreinforcedplastic(FRP)withbalsacores.Containersofthistypearecommonlyusedontanktrailersforthetransportofhazardouschemicals.1.2Thispracticeislimitedtocylindricalshapecontainers,0.5m[20in.]to3m[120in.]indiameter,ofsandwichconstructionwithbalsawoodcoreandover30%glass(byweight)FRPskins.Reinforcingmaterialmaybemat,roving,cloth,unidirectionallayers,oracombinationthereof.Thereisnorestrictionwithregardtofabricationtechniqueormethodofdesign.1.3Thispracticeislimitedtocontainersthataredesignedforlessthan0.520MPa[75.4psi](gage)abovestaticpressureheadduetocontents.1.4Thispracticedoesnotspecifyatimeintervalbetweenexaminationsforre-qualificationofapressurecontainer.1.5Thispracticeisusedtodetermineifacontainerissuitableforserviceoriffollow-upNDTisneededbeforethatdeterminationcanbemade.1.6Containersthatoperatewithavacuumarenotwithinthescopeofthispractice.1.7Repairproceduresarenotwithinthescopeofthispractice.1.8ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection8.
